NFL Week 2 Blackout Alert

Written by Synergy Legal, Inc. on 2:50 PM

The Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers sold enough tickets for their home openers this Sunday to have the looming blackout lifted in their respective local markets. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars did not, despite pleas from Mayor John Peyton. The Jaguars game against the Arizona Cardinals will be the first NFL game this season blacked out. There were a total of 9 games blacked out during the 2008 season, and 4 were blacked out in 2007.

USC at Washington, 3:30pm ET, ABC (Regional)/ESPN360.com
**UPSET ALERT** Yeah, I know the Huskies were winless last season, but they gave LSU all they could handle in Week 1 and this looks like the sort of typical letdown-game USC has every year.

Cincinnati at Oregon St, 6:45pm ET, FSN
Cincinnati wiped the field with the Beavers back in 2007 in Cincy. The Beavers will look for revenge on their home turf, and a boost into the Top 25 with a victory.

No Blackouts for Week 1 Sunday

Written by Synergy Legal, Inc. on 2:52 PM

Fans of the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals made the most of the 24-hour extensions they received from the NFL to sell their remaining tickets. Both teams announced sellouts for their opening games; and that means there will be no local blackouts for any games Sunday. Still up in the air is the Oakland Raiders home opener Monday night. The 72-hour deadline for lifting the blackout expires at 10:15pm ET on Friday.
